Music for Canterbury Cathedral
Featuring Robert Jones’s Missa Spes nostra
This program is “just as thrilling as any Hollywood adventure”, according to one Kansas City reviewer. Don’t miss this opening concert! For its annual exploration of music from the Peterhouse partbooks, copied in 1541 for Canterbury Cathedral, Blue Heron returns to one of its favorite masses. Filling out the program are Nicholas Ludford’s Ave cujus conceptio and Robert Hunt’s astonishing Stabat mater, which has not been heard in over 450 years anywhere. All of these works will be recorded subsequently for world premiere release on CD. Buy tickets now!
